DIY Tiffany Blue Herb Pots

I picked these herb pots from the Salvation Army for $1 each but they where a boring brown so I grabbed some Tiffany blue paint and here's how they turned out

Quick little DIYs like this really make a difference when it comes making the house look alive while only spending a couple dollars. I always check out the local op shop before I go buy a full priced item from a store.

Bed for Blu

Here's another recently completed project, After having a good look around for puppy beds I was super disapointed with with either how awful or how over priced they were in the stores and decided it was better to make it myself so off we went to Daves emporium for supplies and got to work, & Blu was heaps of help as you can see

Always keeping a smile on our faces... And here is the final product ( including awful camera work )

Our rocking chair project

Our latest project was this chair we picked up from the Salvation Army for $30 . It was old and tired begging to be loved. We are planning to start a family some time in the next year so this was perfect. Rocking chairs cost a small fortune and since we are planning ahead it was a great find. Tim took control of this project and he did an amazing job

He really put his heart and soul into this creating something beautiful and modern for me to one day in the future create memories with our little one in. It's gender neutral, modern and while there are no babies it still could fit into any room with out looking like a nursery chair and its important to us not to spend money on things that aren't going to be used when baby grow up . Im in love ... And all I need to do is a add a throw or pillow to make it fit a baby girl or a baby boy

Here is a before . Kind of awful I know

We did take photos of the whole process so if any one is interested let me know but we are far from experts but we did learn a lot along the way .

It all begins here...

I'm so excited to be writing this post, Not only is it a beautiful day here in Auckland NZ but i'm finally starting this blog! The main reason i decided to start a blog was because we live in such a fast paced world and i'm at the age (23) where i'm starting my own life & my own family with my incredibly amazing man ( His name is Tim btw ) and i want to able to look back and see how we started & one day we can show our children what our journey looked like.

Anything to do with keeping life simple. Times are changing as the world becomes obsessed with things that don't matter but growing up in New Zealand is something i treasured its a place where as kids we got outside and played in nature we were so adventurous things where simple and joyful and that's something i hope my children will get to experience, because technology is taking away all that beauty.

So here i'll track our journey... Trying to keep things simple in this crazy world, anything from natural skincare, eating healthy & avoiding chemical ridden foods and my favorite part DIYing with my man turning old things new and creating the life we want on a budget. The Kiwi way

& This is what inspired me the first edition to the family . Her name is Blu she's a Bulldog/Pitbull Tim bought her home with a bow around her neck and ever since then she's bought so much joy to our lives, We named her after my parents dogs I grew up with & now it's my turn to start my own little family and I'm beyond excited.
